Priorities

I am running for the State Assembly because I believe I will be the best and most vocal advocate for the residents of the 51st District. I have dedicated my life to public service and, with the experience I have gained, I know I am ready for the challenges in Sacramento. I want to ensure that all the people in the 51st District have access to quality, affordable healthcare; that our children attend good schools; and our streets are safe from crime and violence. I will be a strong advocate for all people in the District.

Education

Once elected, you can count on me to advocate for additional funding for education to reduce class sizes and provide adequate text books and resources for all classrooms. I will also support resources for continued staff development and training for teachers.

Health Care

I support free health care for every child in California under the age of 19. In addition, I believe in safeguards to prevent medical facilities from closing like the King Trauma Center, RFK Hospital, and Centinela Pediatric Center. Economic Development

Our state is in a crisis. Unemployment is at an all time high and more and more Californians are feeling the strain of the nation's economic crisis. I plan to work with the business community to create a positive working environments that help to attract and retain businesses and jobs in the State because we cannot afford to lose another Nissan.

Public Safety

I believe we need to increase the funding for public safety to ensure that our communities and schools are safe. I also want to expand the Gang Alternative Program, known as GAP, to all local area public schools to educate 4th graders about the dangers of gangs and how to stay out of them.

Affordable Housing

Working with labor and community organizations to create affordable housing for working class families, I want to make available underutilized buildings and State land for affordable housing.
