Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Lynn Carol Frazer-McBride

Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Mount Vernon City School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe that all children can learn, and that it is the responsibility of the Mount Vernon School Board to allocate adequate resources and implement educational policies and practices that provide our children, with a safe, clean, healthy, engaging and supportive learning environment. I believe the Mount Vernon School District's staff must be proficiently skilled, experienced, love children and committed to the education of our children. I believe that the District's Curriculum must be relevant, engaging, and inclusive, so that our children will be able to complete in a global economy. I am seeking re-election to ensure that my beliefs and the job of raising academic standards in our elementary and secondary schools go forwards. The proposed cuts in state aid to the Mount Vernon School District will jeopardize the quality of education our children receive, and all our gains thus far. I will continue to fight for adequate resources to provide a sound basic education for all our students. I will continue to seek the elimination of unsuccessful programs and wasteful spending through careful evaluation and assessment. I will continue to promote student success by: developing policies that replicate best practices, seeking out qualified committed staff and holding the superintendent accountable.
