I plan to vote for Lisa Cohen on May 19th for the Board of Education because I trust her. Lisa is intelligent, well-informed, and passionate about our kids' future. It's a great relief as a working mother to know that someone like Lisa is thinking about the important issues that I am not able to study. I'm proud for her to be my voice on the Board.

Susan Hiner, Croton on Hudson

Lisa Cohen is my top choice for the School Board. She's a great listener, thinker, problem solver who leads without dominating and has already done her homework on the hard issues facing the Board. Please join me in electing Lisa Cohen.

Fran Allen, Croton on Hudson

We support Lisa Cohen for Croton School Board. We have know Lisa as the treasurer for the local organic produce co-op. She has handled money and logistical nightmares for years with very few dropped stitches. She has been an active voice in nutrition, children's needs, and supplying information to local parents.
Furthermore, Lisa is a respectful human being. She takes time to listen, to respond, and she embraces learning. For these reasons, we will be supporting Lisa Cohen for the School Board!

Catherine and Michael Arkin, Croton on Hudson

Lisa Cohen has a tremendous amount of integrity and patience. As a Croton parent, I am grateful that someone with her capability and tenacity is willing to take on the school board position.
She a great asset to the Croton community. I endorse her wholeheartedly.

Leslie Englander, Croton on Hudson

Why should "singles"--"DINKS" (double income no kids)--or "empty nesters" vote in Croton's upcoming School Board elections? Because you support the schools with your taxes and it only makes sense to support people who will use those tax dollars wisely. That's why I'm supporting Lisa Cohen. Lisa is highly intelligent, curious and leaves no stone unturned when working on a problem. When she says she'll do something - she will, you can count on it! She's a long-range thinker and strategist which is just what we need in these challenging economic times.
Lisa Cohen has my vote!

Eileen Henry, Croton on Hudson

I am writing to express my support for Lisa Cohen. Lisa is dedicated to improving the quality of education of all our school age children. She is open to discuss our thoughts and concerns as well as ready to research new ideas and resources. With Lisa on the board, you can count on being kept informed about what's going on in our schools.

Jason and Emily Prince, Croton on Hudson

The school board race is reassuring evidence of the vitality of our Village, with so many candidates competing for a demanding, sometimes thankless, job. Lisa Cohen stands out even in this very good company. She's smart, thoughtful, diligent and open-minded and she's done her homework on Croton school issues. I heartily endorse her.

Carol Shanesy, Croton on Hudson

I am supporting Lisa Cohen for the School Board and I urge you to do the same. My principal concern is that, while this year's budget has not wreaked too much havoc on the schools, next year, in the absence of many one-time contributions to income, we are likely to face a significant deficit. This could lead to the distasteful choice of either a massive tax increase or the dismissal of a substantial number of teachers and the elimination of numerous programs. Not only could this devastate the school system and/or the taxpayers, but it could also create a serious rift in the community between those who have children in the schools and those who do not. Not a happy situation.
At the beginning of the campaign, I did not know any of the candidates. So I sent each of them a few questions related to this issue, i.e., How, in these perilous economic times, do we maintain a quality educational program at a cost the taxpayers can afford?
All five of the candidates came back with detailed, thoughtful and candid responses. I watched the video of their panel at the Journal News (http://www.lohud.com) and I also had the opportunity to speak with almost all of them. I concluded that we have an outstanding group of women willing and able to take on what must be the most difficult public office in the community. I believe that all of them would represent the district well, but choices must be made.
Lisa Cohen gets it!! She got it from the beginning and I think it is imperative to have someone with her outlook and understanding on the Board to ensure that the interests of both the students and the taxpayers are effectively represented and balanced.

Joel E. Gingold, Croton on Hudson

This year we are fortunate to have a wealth of excellent candidates running for seats on the school board. It makes the choice very difficult indeed. Each of them is forthright and candid about positions on school related issues and have demonstrated energy and commitment to make Croton schools better than they already are.
This leaves most of us with hard choices to make. I am particularly impressed with Lisa Cohen, having worked with her previously on village issues. She is smart, energetic and committed and willing to fight for what she believes. In such a vibrant community there are always multiple ideas and approaches to every challenge. Lisa knows how to get things done and will be a very effective and contributing member of the school board. She has my vote.

Georgianna Grant

My wife and I are excited to cast our votes for Lisa Cohen for the Croton Harmon School Board on the 19th of May. We have known Lisa, her husband Greg, and their children for years and are hard pressed to imagine a better candidate. Lisa is smart, creative, and tenacious. She is fiscally responsible, eager to listen, and scrupulously honest. She will make an excellent addition to a very fine board.
