Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Lakeland Central School District

I have been a member of the Board of Education for 9 years. During this time the Board of Education has worked towards common goals, achieving concensus on tough issues for the benefit of students and community members.

Achievments of the Lakeland Central School District over this period have been a significant growth in the quality of our educational program and the development of a solid infrastructure within the district. Student success at all levels has climbed as a result.

At this time of financial duress, we must maintain our forward momentum in academics for student at all levels, providing opportunities in AP classes, extra-curricular activites, and engaging methods of instruction.

However we must also recognize the financial constraints which we are working within as we move forward. We must continue to work together to develop budgets, contracts, and plans which provide for the students and do not outstrip the taxpayers financial resources.
