Candidate for
Council Member; City of Norwalk

Marcel Rodarte is a product of what Norwalk has to offer. Marcel grew up in Norwalk and has spent most of his adult life giving back to the city that he feels has given him so much. Marcel attended Ramona and Moffitt Elementary schools before going on to graduate from Norwalk High in 1990.

Shortly after graduation Marcel left for what would be a life-long commitment to service. Marcel enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1990 and in the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 1994 where he continues to serve today. During his time in the military Marcel has volunteered to serve in support of nearly every major conflict or war and has travelled to the far reaches of the world in service of our Great Nation.

As a member of the Planning Commission since 2007, Marcel makes every effort to reach decisions that in the best interest of our entire community. Marcel also served on Norwalk's 50th Anniversary Committee. Marcel is a big proponent of Veteran's organizations. He is an active member of the American Legion Post 359 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7138 where he serves as a trustee.

Marcel Rodarte is employed by the Department of Defense as a Quality Specialist where he is responsible for the oversight of sensitive defense contracts worth millions of dollars. This specialized experience has given Marcel the unique tools and abilities needed to reduce waste and increase productivity and prosperity within our city. Marcel brings with him strong ethical and moral convictions which will serve our community well.

Marcel founded a fledgling Norwalk-based non-profit organization to inspire and empower the youth of Norwalk to realize their full potential. We must never forget that today's youths are tomorrow's leaders.

As a proud father of a two-year old daughter. Marcel cherishes his time with his family and will work tirelessly to protect yours.

Marcel is the first in his family to graduate from college having completed a B.S. in Business Management and Associate Degrees in Electronics and Logistics Management, achievements he hopes will help to inspire others.
