- Angela asked community college building contractors and construction project managers to create student internships to enable student workers to receive on-the-job experience and important exposure to architecture and building trades while they complete their career education studies.
- Angela worked to boost student outreach to low-income and disadvantaged students, particularly African-American and Latino males, as outlined in the Los Angeles Community College District's 5-Year Strategic Plan.
- Angela advocated for programs designed to help these students fully understand the benefits of higher education and the cost savings they can achieve by attending a community college and the financial aid options available to them.
