I believe in Lower Taxes

California Residents are overtaxed. Current California Legislators want to raise our taxes to pay for their lack self-control. I have a checkbook at home that needs to be balanced or I get penalized. What if I saw that my check book was not going to balance this month and I demanded more money from my employer? What would they tell me to do with myself?

Businesses are over taxed. Somehow, people in Sacramento got the idea that if businesses are taxed more, then everyone benefits. Unfortunately, the opposite is true for the small business owners. Every tax increase means less hours for their employees. It could also result in less employees. By giving the small businesses the freedoms they need to conduct business, more people will be employed throughout California.

"To steal from one person is theft. To steal from many is taxation." ~ Daiell's Law (a take-off on Felson's Law)

I believe in Less Government

There are many legacy programs out there that are being funded, but are not accomplishing their goals. Every new piece of legislation should have a five year time limit. If it is working, then all they have to do is vote "Yes" to extend the program. If it is not working, the program must end.

"Bureaucracy expands to meet the needs of the expanding bureaucracy." ~ Oscar Wilde

"Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have." ~ Barry Goldwater

Less government means less taxes.

I believe in School Choice

Parents want their children to go to schools that will give them the tools to complete in this newer marketplace. Parents also want their children to go to schools that are safe for their children. It should be every parent right to be able to choose which public school to send their child. Should none of the public schools meet expectations, then a school voucher should be supplied to parents to send their children to a privately funded school.

"Monopolies were outlawed for a good reason: they make bad products at high prices. I'm very clear on the idea we need a competitive educational environment." ~ Ted Forstmann

"I have seen too many schools that are failing. They are trapped in fossilized bureaucracies. Bureaucracies that have low expectations for children and consequently set low standards for them. These schools are leaving our children behind and they must be fixed ... We must also be open to new ideas. Let's not be afraid of ... private scholarship funding to give poor parents a choice ... Let's experiment prudently with school voucher programs to see if they help. Let's use innovation and competition to help give our children the best education possible." ~ General Colin Powell

I believe in Safe, Secure Borders

Yes, I sympathize with those who want a better life. The United States was founded on immigrants. They are the backbone of our whole culture. But it needs to be done in a safe, secure, and orderly way. This brings to light our current immigration system: it is too slow. Some of my friends who served their adopted country honorably have had to wait over ten years to become citizens.

I believe in an Energy Independent Nation

We should not be dependent on oil from any OPEC nation. We have the capability for long term energy needs, yet we cannot go forth.

Nuclear power has come a long way since its inception. Many European and Asian countries use nuclear power for over 75% of their needs. California is behind the curve. We have the technology, yet we are restricted from producing new nuclear power plants.

I believe in Life

I believe abortion is wrong except in the case of rape, incest, or where the mother's life is endangered. I also believe the death penalty is wrong. Life is life no matter how you look at it.

I believe in the Power of the Vote

Whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, Decline to State, etc., it is important that you register get out to vote. Your voice needs to be heard. It's even easier now: Fill out an absentee ballot. This gives you the choice of voting and mailing in your vote or waiting to vote on election day.

"Idealism is fine; but as it approaches reality, the cost becomes prohibitive." ~ William F. Buckley Jr

I believe in the Republican Party of Orange County

There use to be the thought that the Republican Party is the old-rich-white-man party. This could not be further from the truth. The Orange County Republican Party is full of vibrant active individuals from many different cultures, age groups, and income status. We have members who are from all the different ethnic groups you can imagine and because of this, we are striving not only to overcome our differences, but to understand them and embrace them. Together, we are able to make great strides in providing you with the choice in how to live your life with as little interference as possible.
