Dr. Gary Woods has taught in public and private schools for over 22 years. This is his life-long passion!

(1) I have a Doctor of Education in Technology and Learning from Alliant International University (2004). My dissertation is "Student Perspectives of Web-Based Technologies, Principles of Good Practice, and Multiple Intelligences."

(2) I support an aggressive program of re-engaging students who have dropped out of school. I work in EBI Leadership Development in the Hispanic, Filipino, African-American, and inner-city communities.

(3) I support the modernization of classrooms and the incorporation of cutting-edge learning technologies.

(4) I am for parental choice, the safety of the students, and focusing on ADA compliance.

(5) I am for expanding career technical education, sports, and art programs due to the diverse learning needs of students with multiple intelligences.

I am an educator. I serve in the community representing a faith-based institute that encourages students to complete high school and take college-level leadership courses. I create online undergraduate and graduate courses using Blackboard.

I am a professor of education and teach college skills, principles of teaching, the teaching process, graduate research and writing, and dissertation statistics both in the classroom and online. I know what it is like teaching in public schools--I have done it.

I am passionate about student-centered learning. Improving the student scores and graduation rates of at-risk students is my vision--and will increase state funding of local education. This is a win/win solution.

I want to help at-risk students finish high school. I want to organize ethnic and community leaders to involve their members in mentoring and tutoring programs.

I am chairman of the El Cajon Planning Commission. I want to create business-community partnerships for real-life vocational training and jobs.

I am a fiscal and social conservative who networks to help kids learn more effectively by using multiple intelligences theory and live better lives. Our children deserve better!
