I am running for San Diego City Council because I believe we need open and honest government that works for all San Diegans, not just the special interests and developers.

I am committed to making City Hall a partner in the continuing revitalization of mid-city neighborhoods. I will work to make these neighborhoods better and safer places to live and work by advocating more police and community relations officers and by working to ensure that mid-city neighborhoods receive its fair share of resources to improve local infrastructure, including street maintenance and lighting.

Elected to the North Park Planning Committee, I have a proven record as a strong neighborhood advocate. I am committed to passing a Neighborhood Right-To-Know Plan which includes: expanded notice requirements; public hearings to be held in local communities so residents can be heard; and a 90-day review period so residents can determine the impacts of significant developments.

I strongly believe that we need traffic improvements to help commuters get to work quickly and safely. One of my priorities will be to implement the long overdue CenterLine rapid transit service--giving City Heights residents quick and efficient bus service along I-15 to job centers downtown and to the north. I will work to rescind the fare increases that are hurting seniors and families who depend on transit, and I will roughly scrutinize new developments that increase neighborhood traffic.

I promise that I will work hard to make every San Diego Neighborhood a better place to live.

I respectfully ask for your vote on June 3rd
