Issues Randy Will Focus On

By Randy Walton

Candidate for Board Member; San Marcos Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
  • Promoting a demanding curriculum. Students must always be challenged, and our expectations of them must always be high.

  • The development of the PACE Promise. Imagine a program that guarantees college acceptance to qualifying students, and helps pay tuition. That's the PACE Promise, and we have a $6 million head start on making this a reality. This program could have a dramatic impact on our district, and our community at large. I would make the continued development of this program a high priority.

  • The modernization of the campuses that need it. San Marcos Unified School District has several beautiful new campuses, built with technology in mind. We also have several campuses that are very old, that were build for student populations much smaller than they currently house, and that aren't equipped adequately with the technology these kids deserve.
