Tom C. Stickel is the founding partner of Coronado First Bank (2004). Coronado First Bank is a community bank designed to personally serve the unique needs of Coronado.

Prior to founding Coronado First Bank, and Virtual Capital, Mr. Stickel founded American Partners Capital Group, Inc., a company specializing in institutional investment placement and corporate governance. From 1983 to 1993 Mr. Stickel was the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of TCS Enterprises, Inc., an American Stock Exchange listed financial services conglomerate. Mr. Stickel led the operations of all subsidiaries including the financial, real estate, mortgage banking, insurance, governmental consulting, and publishing businesses. Under his leadership, TCS' mortgage banking subsidiary designed and sold over a half billion dollars of an alternative investment vehicle to the California State Teacher's Retirement System (CalSTRS). From 1978 to 1983 Mr. Stickel was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Southern California/Point Loma Savings and Loan, a bank he founded at 28 years of age which consistently ranked in the top ten nationally for earnings based on asset size. Bank of Southern California was the first modern day historical conversion of a Savings and Loan into a commercial bank charter.

Mr. Stickel graduated from San Diego State University in 1972 with a bachelor's of arts degree and from the University of Southern California in 1976 with a master's degree in public administration. He has served with distinctions on the boards of directors of Sempra Energy (NYSE), Blue Shield of California and as the Chairman of Onyx Acceptance Corporation (NASDAQ). Additional board service has included; Catellus Development Corporation (NYSE), at the request of the California State Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), The O'Conner Group, at the request of the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS), and Beverly Hills Savings and Loan (at the request of the United States Government).

Tom is actively involved with many civic duties including; the California Chamber of Commerce (Chairman 2002), director of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, Trustee Emeritus of the California State University system, founder of the Stickel Christian Foundation and Chairman of Wamp Inc. Wamp was founded and is run by President, Coronadan Stephen Wampler. This organization was created by Steve specifically to send wheelchair bound young people to experience camping in the Sierra mountains at Hawley Lake and today has grown much larger.

Tom is a blessed cancer survivor of almost 3 years, husband to Tracy (23 yrs.) Father to sons; Ryan (17) and Brad (15) and owner of two dogs; Blue (100 Lb. yellow lab) and Benny (30 lb. Shelter saved poodle/terrier mix)
