I am committed to putting "caring" back into Health Care. Patients have the "Right to accessible, Excellent health care provided with respect, privacy, dignity and compassion."
The Hospital District must continue to improve and expand its services. I am committed to putting "caring" back into Health Care. Patients have the "Right" to accessible, excellent health care provided with respect, dignity, privacy and compassion."

My qualifications include:

  • Twenty-nine years of private practice in Ramona, Poway and Rancho Bernardo.
  • Past Chief-of-Staff at Pomerado Hospital.
  • Past Chairman of the Hospital Board.
  • Chair of Hospital Board Quality Management Committee.
  • Past Chairperson of the Hospital Board Finance Committee.
  • Chairman of the Facilities and Grounds Committee
  • Past School Board Trustee, served for thirteen years.

In the next four years, I will focus on:

1. Maintaining our focus of providing the best quality health care.
2. Hiring the best Nurses and ancillary staff, and maintaining positive employee relations.
3. Implementing the Master Facility Plan increasing our bed capacity.
4. Building the new "Hospital of the Future" with outstanding "state of the art" Trauma, Cardiovascular, Neurosurgical, Oncology, Surgical, and Women's Services.
5. Increasing Emergency Room and Trauma Care capacity, Urgent Care Centers, Wellness Programs and other clinical services throughout the Health District.
6. Doubling the size of Pomerado Hospital to increase services for Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos and the rest of the southern portion of our District.
7. Redesigning and modernizing Palomar Hospital.
8. Developing "satellite facilities" in the communities of Ramona, Valley Center, Pauma Valley, Escondido, San Marcos and Rancho Penasquitos.
9. Continuing our relationship with CSUSM and the development of the College of Nursing.

I will work to maintain fiscal solvency using the taxpayers' money wisely to expand services including Trauma, Emergency Room, Urgent Care and Wellness Care Programs.
