Dear Friends, Neighbors, Healthcare Advocates and Community Activists

Currently, I'm a psychologist, educator and a small business owner in East County. My work is in vocational rehabilitation for the disabled and community health.

Six months ago I was appointed to the Board of the Grossmont Healthcare District. I want to continue to serve our district as a proactive member and truly represent you. As an incumbent with stewardship responsibilities, I commit to uphold the mission of the Grossmont Healthcare District including the District's adoption of a formal communication policy with the Grossmont Hospital Corporate Board.

I've served as a Board member of the Grossmont Hospital Foundation, garnering resources to advance state of the art services for you. I facilitated a $350K contribution for the acquisition of the da Vinci Robotic Surgery System.

I support the upgrade of our Emergency Service and Critical Care Center at Grossmont Hospital. I want to thank you, the district voters, for your support of Prop G. I pledge to be fiscally responsible with your tax dollars.

As your elected representative to the Grossmont Healthcare District Board, I, Shirley Apple Murphy, promise to strengthen our communication.
