As a parent of a Sweetwater District student, an educator and a board member, it has been my privilege to serve the South Bay children, their parents, community members, teachers and administrators. I have developed a track record of success and experience that guide my current efforts to impact student achievement.

COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION: I have dedicated over 30 years of my life to education as a teacher. I am presently employed by the National School District. I am an experienced problem solver and someone who gets things done.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT & LEADERSHIP: I have been recognized for being actively involved in school, district, community and professional organizations such as School Site Council, District Advisory, Budget & Curriculum committee and PTA President. I am currently serving on an Advisory Committee to the SD County Schools Superintendent & the State of CA Selective Service Local Board. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES: AYSO Soccer, Girls Scouts, Sweetwater Little League, PUENTE, and the South Bay Forum.

PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS: National City Teachers Association Membership Chair, Human Rights Committee and Vice-President; California School Boards Association & National School Boards Association. LEADERSHIP AWARDS: San Diego County "Hats Off to Teachers", "South Bay Educator of Distinction," National University "Community Leadership Award" and California Teachers Association "WHO" Award.
