This information is provided by the candidate

My name is Doug Long, and I am running for Encinitas City Council.

As a life long resident, local business owner, and civic volunteer I have had ample opportunity to not only hear the concerns and thoughts of Encinitas' citizens, but experience them.

I am committed to continually improving our city's safety, fiscal performance, and quality of life and dedicate my time and efforts to those goals. My strong leadership and solid experience help me understand how I can:

  • Protect our beaches.
  • Provide parks and recreation for our children.
  • Cut inefficient government spending of taxpayers' funds.
  • Promote quality growth for businesses and residents through sound management.
  • Preserve our abundant natural resources.
  • Ensure the safety of our families through increased vigilance

I want to bring the balanced, experienced leadership we need to make sure Encinitas truly is a community responsive to the needs of its residents!

I have been actively involved in our community for over thirty-five years, currently serving as:

  • Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission
  • President of the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association
  • Vice President of the Encinitas Preservation Association that saved the famous Encinitas boat houses.

Being no stranger to hard work, I performed my civic duties while sponsoring Little League, soccer, and girl softball teams, running a successful business, and raising a family.

Please join me in working toward a bright future for Encinitas. Vote Doug Long for Encinitas City Council!
