By Ed Gallo

Candidate for Council Member; City of Escondido

This information is provided by the candidate
As your city councilmember my commitment has been Escondido First. In that position of trust I have lived up to that promise with an emphasis on Image and Appearance including:

Safe City: I endorsed gang injunctions and stepped up efforts against graffiti... consistently supported our police in their checkpoint efforts to remove unlicensed/uninsured/unsafe drivers...instituted Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 program and championed school area speed monitors to protect our greatest asset-our children. Endorsed Prop P for four new fire stations and a new police facility.

Economic Development: Responsible for bringing nationally recognized Stone Brewing Co to Escondido and bring in higher paying jobs, movie theater complex, three new upscale hotels, new restaurants and gathering places. As amember of the Economic Development sub committee made it possible for the internationally renowned Mingei Museum to open a branch on Grand Ave downtown.

Cleaner City: I have supported revitalizing neighborhoods...stepped up code enforcement reversing illegal garage conversions and overcrowding... rebuilding blighted areas. Assisted in cleaning up neighborhoods.

Quality of Life: Added new parks, I supported YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs in their efforts to provide more programs for our youth...proposed funding for Kit Carson Park signage...Centre City median landscaping...senior center rehab.

We are making progress but we have much more to do...our children and grandchildren are depending on us. Keep Ed Gallo as your councilman.
