Immigration concerns

Candidate for Council Member; City of Vista

Actions of other legislative bodies should be monitored
One of the biggest issues facing the country as well as communities such as Vista, that has serious current and long term implications to our quality of life and also national and local security concerns is uncontrolled immigration. I legally entered the U.S.from Canada many years ago and became a citizen after the necessary waiting period.I support authorized immigration but I can not condone the breaking of our laws by those who enter with criminal intent or who smuggle in illegal drugs or vulnerable human beings. Federal and state mandates have placed a heavy burden on our hospitals and schools; other cities have initiated laws and ordinaces that are meant to address local immigration issues. I will keep this and other compelling issues in front of the City Council and will always base my vote on what is in the best interest of all of Vista.
