Staff recruitment, retention, and recognition are crucial to maintaining a supportive work environment.The Human Resourses Committee, which I have Chaired for the past 3 years, supports the Director or HR and her staff in their continued efforts to provide the best employees in the best positions. This committee formulated, endorsed, and helped to create the RN program at CSUSM, a partnership that flourishes today. We have initiated programs within the district's schools that allow students to work within our hospitals for school credit, to introduce them to all aspects of medical care and hopefully, interest them in medical careers. The HR Committee has worked hard to achieve recognition as "One of the best places to work", both in San Diego and nationally. Our focus has been on recruitment, mentoring and education, retention, recognition, and improved employment opportunities by promoting within the orgaqnization, and with loan forgiveness programs that foster continued growth and education. |
