Our schools need strong leadership to keep them on the right track. Strong leadership means building partnerships, not creating conflict. Teachers, students, parents, principals, administrators, and the school board must all work together. I have tried to bring our community together, not pull us apart.

My guiding philosophy is doing what is best for our students - "Going the Extra Miles" for them. I have helped push the District into the 21st Century, focusing on the fundamentals - reading, writing, and arithmetic - while teaching our children vital skills in the areas of technology and computers, problem solving, teamwork, and vocational training. I am a fiscal conservative who has worked hard to help the District stay solvent during this horrendous recession. I encourage excellence and the teaching of basic life skills such as responsibility, respect, character, and self-discipline to help students prepare for their futures.

My four years as a Board member, small business ownership, community involvement, experience as the parent of two San Juan graduates, and 28 years of experience as a business counsellor, mediator, and arbitrator have prepared me to be an effective member of a governance team.

I would appreciate your support and vote.
