Candidate for
Director; Cosumnes Community Services District

Jimmie Johnson has been a community leader for over 15 years. Awarded the Congressional Bronze Medal for community service, and an active resident of Elk Grove, Mr. Johnson serves on both the Charter Commission and the Historic Preservation Committee, volunteers for public works projects - such as the recent building of Morse Park, and participates in the community's adult softball league.

Mr. Johnson is also an associate attorney with Bell, McAndrews & Hiltachk, LLP, specializing in governmental law matters. In his years of practice, Mr. Johnson has appeared before several federal district courts, the 3rd District Court of Appeal, and many of the county Superior Courts in California.

Mr. Johnson has served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable D. Lowell Jensen of the United States District Court, Northern Division of California (2002-2003); as the judicial extern to the Honorable Ming W. Chin, Associate Justice, California Supreme Court (2002); as a law clerk in the United States Attorney's Office, Criminal Division (2001); as a law clerk in the State of California Department of Justice (2001); and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Martin J. Jenkins, United States District Court, Northern District of California (2000).

Graduating cum laude, Mr. Johnson received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, where he participated as a member of the competition trial team. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2002.

Mr. Johnson received his B.A. from Stanford University, graduating with honors in Political Science, earning a second major in History and a minor in Computer Science. While at Stanford, he was also a scholarship athlete on both the football and track teams. Mr. Johnson earned the esteemed title of Academic All-American (Honorable Mention) in football, and was the PAC 10 Champion in the 200 meters race.

With a history of community service, private-sector experience, and governmental know-how, Mr. Johnson will bring fiscal responsibility back to the CSD budget. Mr. Johnson is excited for the opportunity to fix CSD from its ruinous financial situation, and return first-class fire protection to Elk Grove, Galt, and the surrounding area.
