By Gary T. Johnson

Candidate for Board Member; Folsom Cordova Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Summary of my qualifications and more information about what is important to me.
The educational success of children is very important to me. I have seven extended family members from the ages of 3 to 19 who have attended or are currently attending in the Folsom-Cordova District. They have participated in educational programs such as Special Education and the GATE program, which has given me the ability to understand how important it is for us to have programs that help students at all education levels.

I have my Bachelor's of Science and Master's in Business. I have lived most of my life in this area and am a graduate of Cordova High School. I have also been a coach and umpire for the RCLL. I served my country and am a disabled veteran.

I want to make sure that all students within our district have equal access to educational opportunities. I want to make sure that children have the best chances to succeed in their education to and have the best education possible so they can be productive citizens. I want to work with the families of our community; the teachers, staff and administration; and the students to help the students within our district to achieve their goals and give them the tools to help create a better world for tomorrow. I am especially interested in making sure that students have the ability to get to college and also making sure that students who are not college-bound have the same opportunities to help them in choosing vocations that are going to help them succeed.
