200 Word Campaign Statement

By Todd Braun

Candidate for Trustee; Los Rios Community College District; Area 3

This information is provided by the candidate
"...We must address the problem of liberal bias in our classrooms and help return our colleges to being institutions of learning where real knowledge and wisdom are imparted."
I have been the husband of one wife for 19 years and father of 6 children. I have a college degree from Ohio University and Hocking Technical College and for the past 10 years I have assisted in general operations of Ark Builders private school. Additionally, I have experience working in Federal and State Governments and have successfully operated my own general contractor business as a remodeler.

My desire to serve as a governing board member of the Los Rios Community College District comes from a growing concern of mine regarding the condition of our nation's educational system. In order for America to remain a free-thinking society, in which all viewpoints are considered and objectively weighed, we must address the problem of liberal bias in our classrooms and help return our colleges to being institutions of learning where real knowledge and wisdom are imparted. For too long has our Board voted unanimously on issues facing our colleges, yet we see no change.

For education to truly be American, we must encourage the free exchange of ideas. This is true diversity. If elected, I will seek to ensure that both conservative and liberal views are taught in an unbiased manner
