Commitments and Beliefs:

My primary concern is to ensure schools are meeting the needs of our diverse students as they pursue their educational goals, both academic and vocational.

Our children must have the skills necessary to be successful in our ever-changing world. We must work to eliminate the achievement gap and increase the graduation rate by supporting all students to maximize their academic potential. I am committed to bringing informed educational leadership to MVUSD students via innovative community organization partnerships, to encourage policies and procedures that support giving all students an opportunity to learn, and to provide opportunities for college bound, at-risk, special needs, and E.L.L. youth to succeed in school. Students should also be provided with a safe, healthy, and welcome environment.

I value the school district's employees, faculty, managers, and support staff who play an integral role in the success of the school district and its students. These essential employees need adequate support to carry out their duties including improved teacher training and professional development, improved operational efficiency, and smaller class sizes.

Our schools are facing continuing financial uncertainty and with my business and board member background, I am committed to fiscal responsibility with the allocation of available funding. I am also committed to finding additional ways, means and methods to support vocational trade and arts/music education funding.

I believe in increasing communication and parental involvement. Politics must be kept out of our schools and the business of teaching should be an activity best left between the teachers, students, and their parents.
