Pump Station Abandonment

By Jim Ferryman

Candidate for Board Member; Costa Mesa Sanitary District

This information is provided by the candidate
The Sanitary District will save money on the operation of pump stations by doing away with seven on the West side of town.
The Orange County Sanitation District has committed to work with the Costa Mesa Sanitary District to abandon seven pump stations that serve the West side of town and replace them with gavity lines and a large regional pump station that would service Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and part of the County.

I was able to convince OCSD that this was the right thing to do for the area and they have committed millions of dollars to make this happen. It is currently in the planning stages. When completed it will save the Costa Mesa Sanitary District lots of money that would have been spent on maintenance and power to operate these facilities.
