The Beach Cities Health District provides health and wellness services to the residents of Redondo, Manhattan and Hermosa Beach through local schools and nonprofits, youth and adult fitness centers and community programs for adults, families and seniors.

From prenatal exercise and breast-feeding classes to anti-obesity programs in schools; from health education for teenagers to preventing heart disease in adults and vital services for seniors, Vanessa supports programs that improve our quality of life.

VANESSA HAS VALUABLE EXPERIENCE

Vanessa is a 12-year incumbent. Her input and decisions have been integral to the success of the health district. She has 22 years' experience as a management and fundraising professional with nonprofit agencies, providing quality health-related services on tight budgets.

VANESSA HAS ROOTS IN OUR COMMUNITY

Vanessa and her family have been Redondo Beach homeowners for three generations.

VANESSA SERVES OUR COMMUNITY

Vanessa completed the Fire Department's Emergency Response Training and the Citizen's Police Awareness Academy. She founded the Women's Coalition South Bay and served on the Redondo Beach Green Task Force.

The Beach Cities' League of Women Voters recognized Vanessa's community efforts with their 2008 Making Democracy Work Award.
