Relieve school overcrowding. CUSD receives an average of 500 new students every year. That translates into almost one new school per year. We must seek all opportunities and funding sources to build schools and needed infrastructure to serve the new facilities. In addition to funds for buildings, Central Unified must work with the State, County and City of Fresno to identify funds for the vital road improvements necessary to improve our schools sites.

Fiscal balance. CUSD must meet the increasing financial demands resulting from State budget cutbacks and under-funded as well as mandated State/Federal programs. This can be achieved through balanced and trimmed budgets to prevent further drain on the General Fund.

Vocational / technical training for all high school students. Even the college-bound students need vocational/technical training, not only to ensure a livable wage but to provide the college student with competitive work skills. The District must continue to match and seek additional community partners to implement training programs.

My commitment is that I will continue to work hard and make decisions that are in the best interest of your children. I am asking you to continue to allow me the privilege of representing you and the children of Central Unified. Please vote November 4th to Re-elect Terry Cox, Central Unified School Board.
