Richard Caglia: Taking on the tough issues facing Community Colleges

Student Funding:While the State of California continues to ask us to do more with less funding, we need to insure that our students have access to grants and loans for a quality education. I will fight for our fair share of the state funding and will make students a number one priority in our budget.

Green Technology: The future is now. Not only do we need to upgrade the technology of our classrooms, we need a curriculum that helps people create new and innovative businesses.

Vocational Training: Having a skilled labor force is critical for our future. This will help attract new businesses to our valley while improving the quality of life for our families.

Distance Education: With new technology and the cost of living on the rise, people can now access an education from a home computer or their hand held electronic device e.g. iPod. This will help retrain our workforce; help educate more of our young people while saving them money on gasoline.
