Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Brad Kvederis

Candidate for
Council Member; Town of Moraga

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe that the most fundamental, sacred mission for elected officials should be to carry out the will of the citizens they represent, and I am running for office because I think the Town of Moraga has strayed from that purpose.

I believe that Moraga residents are overwhelmingly opposed to further large-scale development, but the town government has taken positions that are either pro-development or simply neutral.

We are fortunate to be a small enough town that everyone's voice can be heard -- and it's the government's job to listen. In a town this size and with a voter base this educated, there should be no guesswork about what the people want, and elected officials should be an extension of the citizens' will, never counter to it.

My entire candidacy is basically a referendum on what the people want: If I get enough votes to win, the people are strongly in favor of preserving our small-town character, and it's my job to uphold that. If I don't win, they have other priorities, so at least I gave it a shot and we found that out. Win or lose, I can live with it, as long as the will of the people is being carried out fairly and accurately.
