People Needs NOT Corporate Big Money needs #1

Publicly financed, not for profit, privately delivered, comprehensive quality health care for all IS affordable.
I deeply believe that "we the people" - the GRASSROOTS - must take control of our democracy. We must overcome the corporate big money stranglehold that dominates all aspects of our society and our government's functioning. I can, and do,devote my time and energy, and as much money as I can spare, to grassroots volunteer activism.

Contrary to corporate big money financial control over our elected officials, publicly financed, not for profit, privately delivered (and therefore not "socialized medicine"!) comprehensive quality health care for all IS affordable, at both the state (SB 840) and federal (HR 676) levels.

An overarching truth that has been missing from the public "debate" is that no matter how ingrained the private health insurance "industry" is, it is the one service enterprise that does not work by free market economic principles. Private health insurance makes by far its largest profit by DENYING health care coverage, profit which goes preferentially to the CEOs. Until the not for profit criterion is legislated and enforced, there is no way that private health insurance premium costs to individuals will be brought under tractable control, that health providers will be adequately compensated, or that comprehensive coverage will be affordable for anybody but the already well-to-do individuals.

Publicly financed, TRULY not for profit, privately delivered health plans have not been offered by any of the three Presidential campaigns. Just how much money such a plan (SB 840 and HR 676) would save national, state and especially local county and community governmental and business budgets is only just beginning to be calculated. The beginning calculations document enormous savings.

In addition to the private insurance corporate big money stranglehold over our elected (and appointed) governmental officials, there is the at least equally potent corporate big money political control over the continuing disastrously failed plan in the Middle East. Among other disastrous features, the continuing out-of-control budgetary deficits continue to deny resources and finances for people needs. We the People - you and me- must overcome the corporate big money stranglehold over this waste.
