Collaboration and Community Involvement

By Hermy B. Almonte

Candidate for City Council Member; City of San Leandro; District 6

This information is provided by the candidate
The Schools, School Board, City Council, and Chamber of Commerce are the backbone of a Strong City.
To build a strong community or city there should be a strong School Board, Strong City Council, and Strong Chamber of Commerce.

I am running for office to bring in the forefront our Students and Youth in the community. Being an active parent of two high school students in San Leandro High School made me realize that our Youth are not being represented and not in the loop to the real issues of the schools and community. In 5 years of attending school meetings, parent meetings, and school-district meetings, there's not a single meeting I can remember seeing presence of a City Council Member...yes, the School Board Members are there!

Chamber of Commerce is a big part of the whole in building a positive character and can offer opportunities for Students and Youth. I am a member of an international club which is a member of Chamber of Commerce. I am willing to work with the Chamber of Commerce and become an advocate for our Students and Youth.
