Good Governance. New Leadership

By Claire McAuliffe

Candidate for Director; Tiburon Sanitary District; District 5

This information is provided by the candidate
The Sanitary 5 District Board needs new blood.
The Sanitary 5 District Board faces mounting challenges in fiscal and capital decision-making, governance and policy, and community involvement. I believe that the Board, and the community it serves, needs a fresh perspective, new energy and from a seasoned business leader. Important business decisions affecting all residents of the District are coming, and the stakes are higher. To reach the right decisions, expereience, perspective and a fresh approach are essential.

I will bring a fresh perspective and energy, improved governance, careful stewardship of resources, and most importantly a policy of informing and engaging the entire District community. I will oversee the creation of a long range business plan, and business people to manage to it, and report to the community on it.

The District has recently expanded. I believe it is time for representation from the newly annexed area; I live in that area and have for 11 years.

The environment is a key and current issue for this board, and I believe that the time is now to take advantage of technology and processes which will put our District at the forefront of Clean Tech and Green Tech.

Educated and involved community members make for better communities. I believe the District must invest time and resources to engage the Tiburon-Belvedere community in the services, challenges and opportunities for the District, and if elected, I will make this process a high priority.
