Absentee Ballot Applications: Absentee Ballots for Budget Vote and Board of Education Election:  A two-page application form can be obtained from the Office of the School District Clerk, each school building secretary and may also be downloaded from the school district website (below). Applications, if they are mailed, must be received by the District Clerk by Tuesday, May 8, 2007.  Applications, if delivered personally, must be received by the School District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2007.

Registration: Voter Registration Dates:  Individuals may register at any of the schools in the district and at the District Office, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on regular school/business days.  Registration is open through Thursday, May 10. All voters registered with Westchester County are automatically registered with the School District. A special registration will take place at the District Office on Saturday, May 5, 2007 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    Proposition KLUFSD-1 Budget Resolution -- Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District (Majority Approval Required)
    RESOLVED, that the 2007-2008 budget, be and the same is hereby adopted for the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures, and authorizing the levy of tax of and for said Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District, Westchester County, New York, as set forth in the detailed statement of expenditures, which will be required for school purposes and for estimated district expenses for the ensuing year, in the amount of 103,613,000."

    Proposition KLUFSD-2 Purchase and Financing of Various Vehicles -- Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District (Majority Approval Required)
    RESOLVED: (a) That the Board of Education of the Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District, in the County of Westchester, New York (the "District"), is hereby authorized to purchase various vehicles including: six (6) eighteen (18) passenger vans at the estimated cost of $55,000 each, aggregating $330,000; one (1) operations and maintenance vehicle (including plow), at the estimated cost of $50,000; one (1) operations and maintenance vehicle, at the estimated cost of $71,000; and to expend therefor, including preliminary costs and costs incidental thereto and to the financing thereof, an amount not to exceed the estimated total cost of $451,000; (b) that a tax is hereby voted in the amount of not to exceed $451,000 to finance such cost, such tax to be levied and collected in installments in such years and in such amounts as shall be determined by said Board of Education; and (c) that in anticipation of said tax, bonds of the District are hereby authorized to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $451,000 and a tax is hereby voted to pay the interest on said bonds as the same shall become due and payable.

    Proposition KLUFSD-3 Funding of Various Projects -- Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District (Majority Approval Required)
    RESOLVED: (a) That the Board of Education of the Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District, in the County of Westchester, New York (the "District"), is hereby authorized to expend from funds on hand and available therefor an aggregate amount of not to exceed $1,300,000 for the following purposes: (i) the installation of a District-wide building and grounds security and access control system; (ii) domestic water tank replacement at Increase Miller and/or Meadow Pond Elementary Schools; (iii) the installation of new and upgraded unit ventilator controls at John Jay Middle School; and (iv) the replacement of and/or reconstruction of the fire alarm panel and related electrical work at John Jay High School and Increase Miller Elementary School; and (b) that the District has been allotted and expects to apply for and receive from the State of New York $1,300,000 of Expanding our Children's Education and Learning ("EXCEL") aid in reimbursement for said $1,300,000 expenditure.

    Proposition KLUFSD-4 Establishment of Student Board of Education Member -- Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District (Majority Approval Required)
    Shall the Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District establish the office of Student Board Member, a non-voting member of the Board of Education, who may sit with and participate with the Board of Education at all public meetings, except executive sessions, effective July 1, 2007?

    Proposition KLUFSD-5 Funding of Repair Reserve Fund -- Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District (Majority Approval Required)
    Shall the Board of Education of the Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District fund the repair reserve fund established by the Board of Education pursuant to the provisions of Section 6-d of the General Municipal Law, by transferring up to $3,000,000 of excess revenues from the 2006-07 school year to the repair reserve fund?
