Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Donna Warren has emerged as a courageous and tireless voice for human rights and social justice in her community.

A former Defense Department auditor and president of L.A. chapter of the Association of Government Accountants, Donna knows how to cut through government waste.

In 1999, she founded the South Central Green Party after concluding the Democratic Party had abandoned its liberal roots and communities of color. In 2001, she became the first Green Party Congressional candidate to run in a predominantly African-American district and earned 4% of the vote.

She started her grassroots activism in 1992 with Mothers ROC (Mothers Reclaiming Our Children). She has gone on to serve with the Coalition for Educational Justice, the L.A. Unemployed Council, and the Bus Riders Union. Working with the Crack the CIA Coalition, she was the lead plaintiff in a class action lawsuit against the CIA and the Department of Justice for their role in the introduction of crack cocaine into South Central Los Angeles.

Most recently, she is a board member of Families to Amend California's Three Strikes (FACTS). Indeed, she has made the amendment of the Three Strikes Law the focal point of her campaign.
