Campaign Statement

By Paul Wood

Candidate for Board Member; Windsor Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
My name is Paul Wood, and I am running for the Windsor School Board. I have been a resident of Windsor for 16 years, and I want to contribute to the community that I live in and care about. When I moved to this town I had the opportunity to attend Windsor Middle School and I have been an active member of the community since.

I earned a degree in Economics from Sonoma State University where I focused my education on the running of both private and public institutions, and how to utilize resources at their most efficient levels. During college I was an employee of the Information Technology Departments at SRJC and Sonoma State. I worked with and tutored teachers on the latest high tech educational tools.

After college I became an Economic Analyst for SSU where I conducted research on public resources. I then obtained a career as an Economic Analyst for a local company. Because of this education, and my professional career, I possess skills that can heighten school performance and financing.

As a member of our school board I would use my skills to structure a more dynamic budget that would keep educational programs funded and help protect the district operations from the risk of budget cuts. I would also like to create self-funded programs that expand the educational development of students without relying on wavering funds for their existence. I can help make our school district the best in the state, and financially secure the future of the students of Windsor. I ask for your vote in this upcoming election.
