I am running for City Council because I want to keep Sonoma country before it turns into suburbia. Whether born in Sonoma or recently moved to town, we all know how special Sonoma is. It will be my mission to preserve the character of our town for future generations.

By working with my fellow councilmembers and the Planning Commission, I will make sure future development maintains the small agricultural feel of the town we love. Oversized, high-density developments erode the country character of Sonoma.

The council needs a new perspective; it has been run by the same people with the same priorities for too long. For all this experience, the council seems to have lost common sense. We have a beautiful lawn on the Plaza but are afraid to use it and ruin the grass. They spend three quarters of a million dollars on a duck pond when our high school students don't have a place to swim. The council passes resolutions on the War in Iraq and the Patriot Act but fails to secure the water our agricultural community needs.

With your vote, I'll work to bring reality back to the council with new ideas that have local focus.
