Smart Voter Official Statement for Armando F. Flores

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Rohnert Park

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

These are difficult times for the nation, state, and city. All of us are challenged by the cost of gasoline, natural gas, and electricity. In addition to the expense of fuel, we have seen increases in the cost of goods. Yet, even with additional expenses, we have been able to maintain important city services.

To sustain the city programs that our community values, we must focus on economic development. My experience as an eighteen-year Councilman has been invaluable in creating a balanced budget and providing quality services for our residents.

Now, the City Council must reduce the financial burden on our residents. We must wisely use our resources and protect our environment. Our emphasis on the use of recycled materials, alternative energy sources, and efficient systems will emphasize the commitment to responsible leadership.

I will focus on the welfare of the city. Recognizing that the Federated Indians were designated as a sovereign nation by the federal government and were going to build a hotel, resort, casino project west of our city, I helped negotiate a $200 million agreement to benefit the city.

I have a proven record of dedication, competence, and success. Thank you for your vote on November 7th.
