Smart Voter Official Statement for Steve Barbose

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Sonoma

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Sonoma deserves a City Council that will act with common sense for the common good.We need Council members who will put partnerships above partisanship and listen to constituents as well as the consultants.

We must protect Sonoma by keeping it clean and green and preserving open space. We need policies that will preserve the quality of life for all the people who live in our town including seniors, children and the disabled. By forging partnerships with the schools, non-profits and other agencies we can maximize our effectiveness and minimize our divisiveness.

As a lifelong Sonoman I want to leave for our children a town of the future with the qualities of the past. My experience and record of success as a Sonoma Planning Commissioner, Sonoma Ecology Center board member, Sonoma Valley Education Foundation President, attorney, and mediator give me the real world background to tackle the tough questions and the courage to give the tough answers.

I am proud of the broad base of community support I enjoy including environmental, education, and business leaders as I take on this challenge. I respectfully request your vote.
