Supporting local organizations and underwriting training programs and life saving devices

By Don Horsley

Candidate for District Director; Sequoia Healthcare District

This information is provided by the candidate
The Healthcare District has a history of supporting local organizations that help seniors lead active and healthy lifes. The District also provides the local community college with funding to promote the training of nurses.
The Healthcare District give the community a distinct opportunity to support organizations that help seniors to continue to live active and healthy lives. I want to continue to find ways to support our seniors to stay in our community in their own homes.

The District contributes to our local community colleges to underwrite the cost of training local residents to become health care professional. Without this incentive, our community colleges would have fewer resources to provide this costly professional training.

Lastly, I am currently on a Healthcare District Committee whose goal is to place automatic eletronic defibulators (AED) in strategic locations throughout the District. Our priority is to place them with all first responders and in our Middle and High Schools. Statics show that if an AED is applied to a person in cardic arrest within the first few minutes, their chances of survival are 75% versus less than 5% for standard CPR.

All of these kinds of programs are available only because we in the Sequoia Healthcare District have a unique opportunity to make our community a safe and healthy place to live and raise our families. I hope that I have earned your vote.
