Carlsbad Unified School District is doing a good job. We can do better. Only 45% of our graduates attend a 4-year college. We should improve this to match comparable districts. As a norm, students who go through our schools should be prepared for the University of California or the California State University systems.

Currently, our student population of 10,000 includes over 3,000 high school students. This will increase to over 4,000. I strongly believe a second (comprehensive) high school is needed to provide the optimal educational experience for ALL of our students.

I will continue to bring extensive experience in dealing with complex budgeting matters.

My vision is that 100% of our students, K-12, thrive in Carlsbad Schools.
