We worked with the govenor and state legislators to obtain fair funding legislation, something that had not been done in decades. Now San Diego students, faculty, and staff get their fair share of state reapportionment. It will take that same local leadership to ensure successful implementaiton. I will continue efficient and effective successful management of limited fundng and continue to lead and present innovative solutions.

I believe that to be effective, a leader should listen to everyone and make decisions which are in the best interests of the students and the district. I don't consider myself as a politician. Rather as an elected leader. The difference is simple. Politicians are always thinking of the next election, leaders are thinking of the next decade.

Ballot Statement of Rich Grosch

RICH GROSCH 21 Year Professional Career Educator/Teacher Executive Vice President/San Diego Community College Board of Trustees

Rich was the primary election winner with over 66% of the vote. Rich is clearly the choice of the district.

Rich Grosch has made sure that the taxpayer's dollars are spent properly on better educating our students. His financial background and broad organizational experience has made sure that our district enjoys continued financial and educational health.

The Board created the Citizen's Oversight Committee to make sure that TAXPAYER funds are spent properly. In fact, the citizen oversight has been so successful that a retiring board member had this to say:

"We sit on a host of oversight committees, and this is to my knowledge, is the most qualified, the most representative oversight committee that exists and the capacity and potential of this body to serve both the Board, staff, and the public is limitless" Barry Newman (Representative to the Proposition S Citizen Oversight Committee)
