Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Rodger M Dohm

Candidate for
Board Member; Ramona Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe there is need for a NEW DIRECTION in THE RUSD:

SOUND FISCAL MANAGEMENT + The RUSD is in a fiscal crisis. The current administration has willfully engaged in deficit spending and reduced reserves by nearly $5 million. After losing a bond election the District borrowed $25 million for new construction. We now have excess classrooms, a surplus school site, and a heavy debt burden.

NEW LEADERSHIP +We need change from the top down. You cannot depend on the people who created the fiscal crisis to solve it. We need leaders with vision, who are willing to work with the teachers to find creative solutions to the District's problems.

FOCUS ON STUDENTS - We need to focus on students, not politics. I believe we must empower our teachers by encouraging their input, providing them with the latest technology, and allocating more funds to the classrooms and less to administration.
