Protect the Exisiting Communities and Open Space

By Charlea R. "Charlie" Moore

Candidate for Director; Rio Linda-Elverta Recreation and Park District

This information is provided by the candidate
As the County of Sacramento continues to seek new revenues they must find vacant land to develop. Rio Linda Elverta has the last remaining vacant land in the entire north area of Sacramento County.
The County of Sacramento has made it very clear. They are looking for vacant/undeveloped land in the county for future sites of "affordable housing" that they now require for mitigation of new, higher cost housing.

The only undeveloped land available within the County Urban Service Boundary is located in Rio Linda Elverta.

The only way to continue to retain the unique lifestyle and rural ambiance of our communities is to stop the county's infill plans and development plans for the northern territory.

Unfortunately we have no power to stop the County since we are in fact part of the County.

Incorporation, on the Park District boundaries, would protect not only the existing open space but also the unique lifestyle and character of our communities.

Our Park District would remain the same as it is now with the same revenue. Our communities would remain the same with the same open space and rural lifestyle.
