Candidate's Statement for Byron M. Buck Sacramento Suburban Water District Division 4 November 7, 2006 Election

During my tenure as President and a Board Member of the Sacramento Suburban Water District I have worked to improve the quality and reliability of the District's water supply. We added a new source of high quality surface water, drought-proofing the District's customers, while reducing an historic backlog of deferred maintenance. We consolidated two districts into our current district, eliminating five political positions and reducing management overhead, resulting in a savings of about $1 million annually. That has been reinvested in replacement and refurbishment of the District's water facilities. Under our strategic plan and capital improvement program, the District will continue replacing aging facilities and assure that our customers retain a high quality reliable water supply.

I am a professional water resources management and planning consultant with 25 years of experience. This is an asset to my public Board service. It has been my privilege to serve the customers of the District. My priority is to continue to provide the customers a high quality reliable water supply at an affordable cost. I wish to continue in this role of public service and ask for your continued support on election day.
