COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY

By Susie Sokol

Candidate for Board Member; Brea Olinda Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
In the 26 years that Jim and I have called Brea home, I have been devoted to serving my community in many ways. Both Julie and Jeff attended elementary, junior high, and high school in Brea.

We have much to be proud of in our Brea schools. It is a privilege to be a member of the team that provides quality educational learning and experiences for Brea's students.

We continuously strive to hire the highest quality teachers and staff, provide challenging curriculum and innovative programs. All Brea Schools have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools and in the past year, all schools have API test scores over 800. We have maintained a balanced budget and at the same time we have increased our teachers salaries to the median of all Orange County districts.

The 14 classroom addition at Brea Olinda High School will be started very soon and within the next year, we will begin construction of the new elementary school on Birch St.

I bring leadership, knowledge, experience, and my promise of continued commitment to all of Brea's students as they prepare for their future.
