Smart Voter Official Statement for Mark Trotter

Candidate for
Board Member, 4 Year; Sausalito Marin City School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation:
Committed Parent, WCA Board Member, and Realtor

Education and Qualifications:
I am committed to restoring confidence in our public schools and ensuring equity in the funding of all the schools in the District. As a Board Member for Willow Creek Academy, I have worked to ensure that all of our children can succeed in an environment of mutual respect, strong educational curricula, and exposure to arts and technology. WCA now represents 50% of District enrollment, demonstrating that we can return our schools to the community. I want the success of WCA to be achieved District-wide. Much of our success is due to the generosity of the community and that community deserves strong representation on the School Board. As a Sausalito businessman, I am committed to a transparent budget process that ensures our tax dollars are spent equitably and yield quality public education.

My family and I bring the voice of concerned parents to the School Board. As involved parents, we know that new facilities alone cannot achieve success for our children. There must be active commitment by educators and parents. I demonstrate my commitment daily by donating 10% of every commission to our schools.

I ask that you support me in restoring our schools to a position of community pride.
