I bring more than 14 years of public policy, community outreach, government relations and public affairs expertise at the national, state and local levels. I have extensive first-hand experience working on mental health, family planning, children's health, Native American health, HIV/AIDS & STDs, substance abuse and end-of-life care issues. I have dedicated my career and my life to ensuring healthcare access for Native communities and working with local communities for racial, social, environmental and economic justice.

  • Promoted Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to Native communities across the U.S. for Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

  • Conducted Psychiatric Research at University of Michigan Hospital

  • Developed Strategic Communications Plan for Washington State Department of Health

  • Crafted National Awareness Campaign for National Native American AIDS Prevention Center in Oakland

  • Worked as Emergency Group Home Counselor for emotionally disturbed youth at Youth Homes, Contra Costa County

  • Helped Launch "Wellness/Sobriety Movement" in remote Alaska Native villages

  • Women's Health & Family Planning Specialist for Planned Parenthood

  • Worked with CDC, Indian Health Service & Navajo Nation Division of Health on syphilis education & prevention campaign

  • Worked with PhD Art Therapist at Marymount Hospital, Outpatient Mental Health Program

I founded and manage a small public affairs business in Gerstle Park that helps nonprofit organizations with their communications needs. Our motto is "Telling Stories, Moving Mountains." I recently bought a home in the Sun Valley neighborhood of San Rafael and enjoy hiking, beaches & travel.
