Smart Voter Official Statement for Richard Leon Holland

Candidate for
Director; Marin Healthcare District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation:
Commercial Realtor and International Consultant

Education and Qualifications:
For those of us that utilize Marin General Hospital, it is extremely important to have in place proficient administration.

Current hospital management, Sutter, made the business decision to terminate its lease agreement early, rather than incur the cost of the required seismic upgrade. The directors for the Marin Healthcare District now have the task of securing new management and improving services. I have two intertwined goals--improving quality while upgrading infrastructure. I bring two necessary skill sets for the task--years of experience providing Leadership and Management Training internationally for healthcare professionals, and I am a Commercial RealtorŪ familiar with lease contracts.

I currently enjoy my status as a stay-at-home Dad, especially after my second child was born at Marin General Hospital this year. I have served on a half dozen boards, worked with public/private partnerships and established a network of experts in the healthcare field. As I seek to provide leadership and establish effective policies at Marin General Hospital, quality of care will be a guiding principle. I will take the same interest in a high standard of care for you--my friends and neighbors--as I do for my family.
