Education and Qualifications:
AB, MD and internal medicine residency at Stanford University. Private practice in San Francisco and volunteer medical faculty at UCSF, 1970-2005. Chief of Staff, Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center, 1984-87. President, Pacific Heights Medical Group, 1989-93.

I have served on Boards of Directors for non-profits in Marin and San Francisco helping seniors and the underserved, such as The Redwoods and the Visiting Nurses Association.

I have lived in Marin since 1968 when I became a medical officer at Hamilton AFB.

My observation convinces me that a thoughtful, constructive approach is the best way to achieve excellent health and medical care for our county. With our community hospital's future at stake, the Marin Healthcare District Board needs experienced, competent and collegial members.

We must accomplish the separation from Sutter as agreed; plan, finance and build a state-of-the-art new wing that meets seismic standards and decide on the best way to govern the hospital. We must retain and attract outstanding physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.

I will honor your vote with my commitment to excellence in a diligent, cooperative and common sense way to promote high quality medical care in Marin County.
