Smart Voter Official Statement for Judy Arnold

Candidate for
Supervisor; County of Marin; Supervisorial District 5

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation:
Novato Councilmember, State Senate District Chief of Staff

Education and Qualifications:
As I have walked the 16,000 households of the Fifth Supervisor District, it has been a joy meeting so many of you. Together we are creating a new Novato. The political gridlock that gripped former City Councils has been broken. Trader Joe's has opened. Whole Foods and Book Passage are coming.

I am especially proud of my work this year in changing the equalization funding formula for Novato schools that will bring in over $577,000 in 2006-07 + with the mandate of continued funding in future years.

The experience I've gained in 10 years working for two state senators, the County's first Supervisorial aide, and a Novato City Councilmember will serve me well as your Supervisor.

It would be a privilege to work for you to relieve traffic congestion on Highway 101, expand bus service for seniors, oversee the wetlands reconstruction process, and oppose development on county land that is widening the boundaries of our cities.

I am honored that you gave me the most votes in June. I hope you will do so again.

Join Supervisors Cynthia Murray, Hal Brown and Charles McGlashan in supporting me for Supervisor.

Together we will get it done. Call 505-2568 or visit http://www.judyarnold.com
