This information is provided by the candidate

As an independent City Auditor, I ask the tough questions: is this City program efficient and effective? Is this action appropriate, legal, and equitable?

My office defends the public interest, making sure that public funds are used appropriately through increased oversight and improved efficiency and transparancy of City operations.

To preserve the Auditor's independence from City management, and to encourage informed and thoughtful public discussion of the issues, I need to know that I can call on residents and stakeholders. I would like to be able to count on having the benefit of your opinions, your ideas, and your questions so that we can work together for a more accountable and effective City government.

You can reach me in the City Auditor's office at 510-981-6750 or at http://www.ci.berkeley.ca.us/auditor. This website also contains our published performance audits and other reports to the City Council.
